Delta Flight 241, Seat 22G. Brief field recording from inside a jumbo jet at about 40,000 feet. Might seem like mostly white noise, but if you ever need a shot inside a commercial aircraft there’s no sense not having something authentic for your ambience. Edited properly, this should be easily looped as needed.

I’ve put this recording in the Public Domain, so please feel free to make use of it however you like without condition.

Interesting recording. The whoosh of the air vents dominate, but the chimes and light conversation come through slightly in the background. Kept low, it would be a great ambient track. I’d lose some of the higher end frequencies to make it less “strident” though.

What’s really interesting, too, is how different this recording sounds from what my perception was at the time, because of the effect of the elevation & pressure on my ears. I couldn’t hear any of those higher frequencies at the time. To truly simulate the plane experience, yeah one would want to roll off those highs pretty sharply.
