The info on microphones and sound recording was nice. On the topic of video converters, I was looking everywhere for a free converter to move my video in mp4 format for toting around on my Iphone. I ran across a FreeWare product called Super from a group called eRightSoft that handles an amazing number of formats including mp4 output. And it includes a batch mode format which is great when converting a number of fraps captures from a Second Life event. The user interface is a bit awkward but manageable. The switch to just recording with headsets works just fine. And it's much easier. This show had a lot of energy and fun. Like very much the focus on practical issues for machinima creators. PS the Image Metrics site is wonderful. 3D World recently did a superb article on facial animation and mentions IM extensively. PPSS the Purchase Brothers are getting hammered with interest since their film has gone viral. I hope they can work out a RvB type deal with Valve. Good for everyone. Good one, Phil.
