NOTE: This podcast contains adult language.

Phil and Ricky crash out in their hotel room in Jamaica, Queens, New York City the day after the Machinima Film Festival 2008 and have an informal chat with the unofficial yet undisputed machinima historian, Ben Grussi, and reflect on the experiences of the weekend.

This is the first of three episodes recorded in New York during that inspiring and thought-provoking weekend.

Thank you for listening! How much do we love your comments? We write them with a Sharpie on the other’s face while he’s sleeping. So bring ‘em on!

wow guys thanks for all the kind words! I was honored and inspired after meeting you both at the machinima film fest. With people like Ricky and Phil contributing so much to the community, i have no doubt about the future of the medium.

@Xanatos - OMG, were you even born when that game was released??? Did you catch it via emulator, or did you somehow get your hands on an old Intellivision? You should’ve seen the deadpan blank stares I got from Ricky and Ben when I brought up that topic. It’s definitely a niche thing to have encountered that old thumb-disc-driven console.

@Armando - The pleasure (and inspiration) was all ours, my new friend. I am so happy to see what your team does in the coming years, it’s really going to be something.

Wow, Ricky doesn’t like *his* voice. I guess the rest of us don’t have a chance then. Reminds me of Burl Ives’s voice. Perfect storyteller’s voice.

And some of those accents sound so authentic! Can’t tell where you grew up.
