- Edinburgh Pronunciation
- Johnnie Ingram: “…Although, if you ever come to visit us in Scotland, we *have* to teach you how to pronounce the word ‘Edinburgh’, for your own safety. Unless it was deliberate. In which case … er … well done.”
- Overman: “Argh, lol! No, it wasn’t botched on purpose. I should have asked! Was it too much ‘EE’ on the first syllable and not enough ‘AY’? I was pretty sure the last part wasn’t pronounced “BURG” as in burger, but other than that I hadn’t a clue.”
- Johnnie: “ED (as in Editor)… IN (as in in)… BURGH (as in , erm, umbrella. It’s sort of a “breh” sound. Like many English words, it’s not pronounced in the way it’s spelt (the Scottish word for Edinburgh, Dunedin, is pronounced as it looks, and is therefore a much better word).”
- Overman: “Dunedin? How the heck do you say that??”
